‘I Was Given An Appointment Without Any Responsibility — Governor’s Aide Resigns, Says He Can’t Continue To Receive Salary Without Work’

A former Special Adviser to Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State, Saleh Ahmadu Pintim, has faulted the way the government is being run, citing this as the reason he resigned his appointment with the State.
Pintim, who said he could no longer move along with the way the government is being handled, tendered his resignation through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Anthony Jellason on January 31, 2022, at the state government house.
In the resignation letter made available to newsmen in Jalingo, Pintim said as he was given an appointment without any responsibility, he had no other option than to leave the office.
He said it was against his faith to be receiving salaries without working, alleging that the administration “has no focus”, which made him leave.
He described Ishaku’s government as “a government that is moving in circles without any progress”, saying it would not be ideal for him to remain in such circles. The past two years or so have been most challenging in my life and faith. I was paid salaries without any responsibility which is against my faith particularly in a government and party that had lost focus,” he said.
But while debunking the claims as it involved his party, The Public Relations officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Andeta’rang Irammae, said all the allegations by Pintim are all false.
He urged the public, especially the teeming members of the party, to discard the allegations, saying they hold no water.
