The Ijaw Youths group, known as Ijaw Youths Must Move Forward has reacted to the purported press briefing organized by General Ebikemefa Dube in Port Harcourt Rivers State, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Godswill Akpabio and Interim Management Committee.

According to a press statement made available to Wee Talk Naija, signed by the Publicity Secretary, Comrade John Ebikeme, the group urged Buhari to ignore those calling for the sack of Godswill Akpabio and Interim Management Committee members.

The statement thus reads,

The attention of the Ijaw Youths Must Move Forward has been drawn to a press release accredited to General Ebikemefa Dube in a purported press briefing in Port Harcourt Rivers State with a title ” PRESIDENT BUHARI SACK SEN. GODSWILL AKPABIO AND HIS EVIL INTERIM MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE” and also accusing the President of the Ijaw Youths Must Move Forward (IYMMF) Comrade Navy Stephen of collecting bribe from members of the IMC and calling him all sorts of names.

We could have chosen to ignore his malicious, baseless allegations and senseless call but for the sake of clarity and to clear his ignorance and lack of knowledge concerning the mode of the paradigm of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), I deemed it pertinent to respond. General Ebikemefa Dube, it should interest you to know that the IYMMF Movement is not synonymous with corruption, we are not hungry people, we are people of integrity and morals. We don’t fight for stomach infrastructure; We are 101% in line with the Niger Delta struggle, we can’t betray the Niger Delta course.
