The Lagos State chapter of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) has suspended Hon Otunba Tunde Onakoya as the State Party Chairman and appointed Rt. Hon. Olufemi Olaniyi as the Acting Lagos State Chairman of the Party.
According to a statement signed by the Party’s National Secretary, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam says the Otunba lacks leadership quality and the party under his reign has refused to grow.
“National Working Committee (NWC) has noted that under your watch as State Chapter Chairman, the party has refused to grow. For example, you have not been able to secure an office for the party in the state let alone provide the required leadership for the State Executive Committee (SEC). In addition, the NWC has been apprised of your anti-party activities in contravention of Article 19 of the Party’s 2018 constitution as amended”.
“Consequently, the NWC has decided to suspend you as Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of the SDP with immediate effect pending investigations and further actions by the NWC”.
“In the interim, you are hereby directed to handover to Hon. Olufemi Olaniyi who has been appointed as Acting State Chairman of the State Chapter of the Party”.
Therefore, the following security agencies and other state electoral services are by this noticed advise to take monitor the activities of the suspended state party Chairman, Otunba Tunde Onakoya
“Lagos state commissioner of police, IPAC Chairman, Lagos State Electoral Commission, INEC, State Security Services, Civil Defence Corps”.
