Greater Calabar Lauds Municipal Council Boss For Marian Road Facelift

Management of Greater Calabar Capital City Development Authority (GCCCDA), has said that the facelift along Marian road has added aesthetic to the area following relentless effort by the Chairman of Calabar Municipal Council,

The Chairman of Greater Calabar Capital City Development Authority,Mr Bassey Effiom, made this known to newsmen in Calabar during a courtesy visit to the council chairman, Prince Hon. Effefiong Nta Eke

Speaking, Mr Bassey Effiom said that the purpose, is to seek for a cordial working relationship between the Council and the Agency(GCCCDA),to enable them carry out their duties, for the greater good of the state, because the agency as a BODY, cannot do it alone.

Commending the council Chairman’s effort to decongesting Marian, Mr Bassey Effiom commented,that the chairman has really done well to have decongested Marian road,which has given way, for a free flow of commuters plying the road.

Also speaking, the Director General (DG) of the Agency, Kingsley Ikpeme disclosed that, the partnership became necessary as the agency can not work in isolation, but need the support and advice of other sister agencies to enable them achieve the desired aim of the agency.

Responding, the council Chairman, Prince Hon. Effefiong Nta Eke applauded the state governor, Senator Professor Ben Ayade for his relentless effort to making sure that Cross River State is COVID-19 free.

Continuing, Effefiong Nta Eke said, the agency can’t just survive but needs partnership with other government agencies . He promised that the Calabar Municipality Local Government Area will give the agency her full support.

The Chairman appealed that, there should be a continuous awareness in the fight against coronavirus even though the state is COVID-19 free, he urged the agency to assist the state ministry of health in carrying out the sensitization against coronavirus to other LGA’s in the southern senatorial district.

“You have done so well for seeking for a cordial working relationship with us as a council, we will continue to work with you”.

Weetalknaija Blog understands that, the chairman had pledged to establish art and craft village in the area ,so as to engage unemployed youths in the state.
