While receiving the defectors in Yache ward, Hon. Gabe Ugor rubbished the claim by APC that there’s no PDP in Yache. According to him, Yache has been a PDP ward and PDP have never lost any election in the ward. The position of some power drunk and desperate individuals do not reflect the reality on ground in Yache Ward. We remain firm and resolute in Yache as ever before and well positioned to win any election to the glory of God alone.

Mr. Elijah Okache, Mr. Egar Mgbantul, Barr. Godwin Offiono, Hon. Timothy Okwoche, and many party stalwarts took time to welcome all defectors to the Party and promised equitable representation in the scheme of things.

High point of the defection in Yache ward was the presentation of empowerment items; Motorcycles and tricycle trucks to some Party men to ease their business. The items were presented on behalf of the Distinguished Senator by Mr. Egar Mgbantul and Hon. Gabe Ugor while promising more empowerment to the ward.

In Echumofana ward, the defectors were led by the current youth leader of Imaje Community, Mr. Oko Francis Ogar Omgbidu who before yesterday, was a great mobilizer for the APC, vocal voice for community development, loved for his truthfulness and his love for his community. Echumofana which is the ward of the factional state chairman-elect of APC experienced what the people described as ‘earthquake’ yesterday, in the camp of APC.

According to the defectors, they’ve been used severally by those they called their own, their leaders and brothers. “We’re the ones winning elections for them, Ordinarily they can’t win any election on their own in Echumofana ward. After handing election results over to them they go up to grab what is meant for us and instead of looking back home they become tiger to oppress the very people that voted them.

“We’re used to their deceptive tendencies. Never again should we remain their tool to winning election alone. We’ll decide our fate, we’ll decide who and who not to lead us without coercion.” According to Dr. Ochuema, Echumofana ward is a core PDP ward else people wouldn’t be gathered without the community bee stinging everybody.

They declared their unalloyed and fervent support for the Senator while thanking him for all he has done in both wards and other wards across Cross River Northern Senatorial District.
