The member representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly, Hon. Alex Egbona has today (Wednesday) rejected the tribunal judgment sitting in Calabar, the state capital which nullified his victory and declared John Gaul winner.
Assuring his supporters, Egbona said all his lawyers are already doing the needful to redress the tribunal kangaroo judgment at the appeal court.
“You must have been aware that the tribunal this Wednesday evening gave its own judgement which we consider questionable in many respects”.
“We have been studying the judgement. In the mean time, we have taken appropriate steps in line with the provisions of the law, to announce our rejection of the judgement”.
“Our lawyers are already doing the needful in thus direction. We are determined to test the law, vis a vis the conclusions drawn by the judges. That is why there is an appeal court. We are going there to get’. justice.
“I thank you all for the calls and concerns in the last few hours since after judgement was delivered. I can confidently say that the mandate you freely gave to me is intact and will remain so”.
“May God be with us. For the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, it is forward ever. God who started the good work will perfect it. So, be strong and of good courage. Do not panic, do not fret. We will always win and it will end in praise”.
“Thank you for always being there”, Egbona said.
