BOMBSHELL!!! Boko Haram And Bandits Are Better Than IPOB — Governor Nasir El-Rufai
The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has suggested that the Indigenous People of Biafra, led by Nnamdi Kanu, poses a larger threat to Nigerians than Boko Haram and deadly bandits.
The governor told BBC Pidgin that comparing the two organizations is like comparing apples and oranges, saying that, unlike IPOB, bandits are not screaming for Nigeria’s disintegration but are simply carrying out their business.
Bandits, unlike IPOB, do not have a centralized leadership, he added.
“I was overjoyed (when Nnamdi Kanu was apprehended) since he had previously jumped bail, putting his sureties in jeopardy.
“Secondly, a person who incites violence by challenging a state’s sovereignty and authority; he refers to his own country as a zoo.
“This should serve as a warning to all of these separatists who are questioning the Nigerian state’s authority,” el-Rufai added.
When asked if Boko Haram and bandits should be dealt with in the same manner as Kanu, he said, “No! No! No! No!” People are making apples-to-oranges comparisons.
According to him, the federal government should not attack the two homicidal gangs in the same way that it attacked IPOB.
“IPOB, a prohibited organization, is led by Nnamdi Kanu. He is easily identified, always in contact, and everyone knows where he is.
“Take, for example, Boko Haram. Shekau was in hiding, and the military had been fighting a war to find him for the past ten years.
“It’s not like Shekau was sitting in a hotel in Saudi Arabia, tweeting about Nigeria’s disintegration or ordering Boko Haram to assassinate Helen and Nasir el-Rufai.
“While Nnamdi Kanu is in one location, Shekau is engaged in guerrilla warfare. The insurrection continues, and the federal government refuses to give up.
“In terms of bandits, they are not centralized under a single command. Who is the bandit’s leader? Who is the banditry equivalent of Nmandi Kanu?
“Bandits are nothing more than a loose confederation of criminals. For them, it’s all about the money. It is not the case that Nigeria must disband.
“I challenge anyone to tell me who is the central leader of bandits in Kanu’s position.”
