NAVY DISMISSES AND JAILS THREE OFFICERS FOR STEALING EX-MILITANT, TOMPOLO’S PROPERTIES

The Nigeria Navy Ship, NNS Delta, has dismissed three of its personnel and sentenced them to five months imprisonment over alleged theft of package belonging to ex-freedom fighter, High Chief Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo.

The Commander of the Nigeria Navy Ship, NNS Delta in Warri, Commodore Ibrahim Dewu disclosed this in a chat with newsmen shortly after de-kitting the Naval personnel.

The dismissed Naval personnel embrace: Petty Officer Ekong Samuel, Leading Seaman Elijah Sagwada and Seaman Usman Shuaibu.

The Navy Court Martial has handed the dismissed Naval personnel over to the Nigerian Prisons Service, Okere, Warri for the continuation of their jail time interval.

The Commander NNS Delta, Commodore Ibrahim Dewu acknowledged the Nigerian Navy will not condone acts of indiscipline, neither will it defend any of its officers or rating found wanting.

He well-known that the dismissal and sentencing of the erring personnel was achieved in accordance with customary Navy pointers, stressing that, they weren’t summarily.

Dewu outlined that they obtained truthful listening to, allowed to return with their counsels and had been solely dismissed and sentenced after the Court martial was completely happy that that they had been accountable.

“Sometimes in June, a couple of of our personnel that had been to Mieka Jetty, sustaining accountability, had been caught stealing a couple of of the instruments in that jetty.
