Ndoma-Egba Reacts To Buni Statement, Says He Remain APC Leader In Cross River
Mr Victor Ndoma-Egba, the former Senate Majority Leader, has reacted to All Progressives Congress APC Caretaker Governor Mai Bala Buni’s comments yesterday that governor Ben Ayade automatically became the party’s leader in the state after announcing his switch from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, the former Senate Majority Leader, congratulated Governor Ayade on his defection, describing it as a well-thought-out decision that would be of great benefit to Cross River State, but insisting that, contrary to the caretaker Chiarman’s pronouncement, he remains the party’s leader in the Senate.
Prof Ben Ayade, the Governor of Cross River State, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress on Thursday, according to Weetalknaija.
He made the announcement after a one-hour closed-door meeting with six APC governors in the Executive Chamber of the Governor’s Office in Calabar.
“So, the rumour floating around about the putative dissolution of the old State Exco that allegedly prepared the way for the governor to form a new Exco’ does not exist and cannot stand because you cannot place something on nothing and expect it to stand,” he stated.
“I urge all members of our party, including our leaders and elders, as well as our throngs of fans, not to be discouraged.
Nothing has altered in our structure; it is still intact and on track. Let us keep the grassroots mobilization going throughout the party.
