Obubra 1 leaders visits Rt. Hon Okpechi, talks tough on zoning of leadership, unity and development

Some of the leaders of Obubra 1 (one) today paid a courtesy visit to the member representing Obubra 1 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Friday Gabriel Okpechi in his office at the Assembly Complex.

The meeting, which according to High Chief Prince Igwe A. K. A Ogerenya 1 of Osopong 2 said it is to discussed the challenges affecting the Constituency and to proffer sustainable solution to ameliorate the lingering crisis which has continued to rocked the Constituency.

In the same vein, the Chairman Governing Council, Cross River State College of Health Technology, Rt. Hon Fabian Okpa emphasized that for Obubra 1 to achieve more strength politically, it need more financial support, the leaders need to support those in the helm of affairs financially, adding that, they must deliberately provide the necessary financial assistance to each other.

Also speaking, the immediate past Chairman of Security Council (CSC), Obubra Local Government Area, Hon Solomon Ekam stressed on the need for all leaders across the Local Government to embrace peace, unity and come together to foster sustainable peace and safety for all Obubrans, as the only way to attract development to the area.

In the other hand, Engineer Stephen Irek called on all past and serving representatives in the Constituency to see ‘unity’ and ‘oneness’ as their top-most priority to tackling inter-communal clashes and other social vices affecting the area.

Responding to all their contributions, Rt. Hon FG Okpechi said he is delighted to see that from time to time the leadership of Obubra 1 should at least once in a while gathered to address the issues bothering the constituency as him alone cannot do it all but need their support, advice and encouragement to lead.

“Thank you all for finding time to visit me, even though some of the leaders are not here, I believe the message will be communicated to them all, and that as long as I’m still representing the Constituency, I will continue to fight and champion the Obubra 1 cause for the benefit of us all”, Okpechi said.

“The office of Obubra 1 is for us all in constituency one, and I wish to categorically state it clear hear that the office is open for everyone who desires to visit it at any given time”.

“My appeal is that we are a one people, we are now together and stronger even those who for one reason or the other who were not with us, they have all returned to us, so we must unite and move stronger for the sake of the fight ahead”.

“If we put ourselves together, the issue of Chairmanship elections will only be decided by us, then for second Commissioner, which will be zone to Obubra 1, we already knew who is our rightful candidate, so we must unite and speak in one voice “, Okpechi added.
