Terror in Ogoja/Yala: Hold Governor Ben Ayade and his Security Men Accountable

NPC Recruitment portal 2022 for Adhoc Staff, Requirements, Closing Date

Our attention has been drawn to reports of security threat and victimization in Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency against our party faithfuls and innocent electorates, whose only crime is standing and voting for PDP, orchestrated by a 12man Police Team attached to the Government House with the Codename *OPERATION STING*. The said team is headed by the CSO to the Governor, CSP Mark Ayogu and ADC Supol Mohammed Ibrahim with express directive from the Governor to disrupt electoral votes in places where PDP is suspected to have won.

We call on the Inspector-General of Police to immediately disband these units of the Police which are being used by the Governor for Political purposes of intimidating opponents and hijacking election materials.

We have it on good authority that the said team has invaded some Wards in Yala and Ogoja, and especially Okpoma and Yache and destroyed electoral votes while shooting sporadically at innocent electorates. We are also aware of the bodily attack on our party faithfuls by the devilish police team.

There is ample video evidence of these activities.

As a party, we condemn in totality this bizzare act of violence and terrorism against democracy in Cross River State. We call on these Security men to refrain from this barbaric act, which is antithetical to our democratic values. We call on the good people of Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency to resist any attempt to deny them their franchise for power belongs to the people.

We call on Governor Ben Ayade to respect the will of the people and accept defeat, for this is election and not War. Cross River State belongs to all of us and nobody can deny us a prideful place in it.

God bless Cross River State
