Police Detain Four People For Setting Ballot Box Ablaze

The police in Lagos have arrested 4 individuals in reference to the disruption of voting and destruction of voting supplies in Okota, Okota in Oshodi/Isolo council space of Lagos State.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Zubairu Muazu, made the disclosure throughout a go to to the affected polling items.

It was gathered {that a} group of boys in tricycles and bikes stormed Polling Unit 18 and few different polling items and tried to power voters to vote for a specific social gathering.

The group fled when a staff of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command arrived on the scene.

SARS had shot into the air.

However, the hoodlums returned when the police left. They tried unsuccessfully to grab the containers, after which burnt some.
They additionally disrupted voting at Polling Units 035 and 036 positioned at Adeneken Street/Alhaji Olusesi Street Junction and Adeneken Street/ Ago Palace Way, respectively.

Although the ad-hoc workers and a few voters returned later on the polling cubicles, voting didn’t proceed till the time of this report
