Police Post, Ultramodern Barracks: Etaba hails Ayade for restoring peace in Obubra

Member Representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba has hailed the Cross River State Governor, Sir Ben Ayade for restoring peace in Obubra Local Government Area and many other communities in the state.

Recalled that, Obubra and her counterparts, Izzi Local Government Area in Ebonyi State has been at each others neck over a land dispute, which the Izzi people had allegedly claimed it belongs to them. The land dispute had on several occasions recorded backlash which results to lost of lives and properties worth millions of Naira.

In a congratulatory message, Etaba commended the governor’s efforts in his peace building-approach strategy by approving the immediate establishment of Nigerian Police Post and Ultra-modern Barracks, which according to the State Security Task force Committee Chairman, Comrade Asu Okang it will be situated close to Ijitum and Ogurude communities axis.

Etaba also cited Oyandama-Nyima, Ukelle, Adadama, Odukpani, etc inter-communal clashes where the governor has restored total peace to these communities.

Meanwhile, Asu Okang while briefing newsmen in Ijitum disclosed that the project when completed will stem the persistent incursion and invasion of Cross River State land borders by the neighbouring Izzi people of Ebonyi State.

“This construction initiative is expected to flow from the North to south to save the people from external aggression as witnessed in recent times”, Asu Okang stated.

“The project when completed will stem the persistent incursion and invasion of our land borders by the neighboring Izzi people of Ebonyi state”.
