Power-Drunk Rear Admiral Ordered His Men To Torture Lawyer, Policeman For Overtaking His Convoy In Abuja

Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, the Nigerian Navy’s top officer, and his four security aides threw caution to the wind by assaulting and brutalizing a prosecutor, Hadi Jazuli, and his associate, Suleiman, a police officer, on the Kubwa-Zuba Expressway in Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory.

According to SaharaReporters, Rear Admiral Dewu ordered the two men to be tortured for overtaking his convoy on the expressway in Abuja while driving into Galadima Estate entrance gate.

According to reports, Dewu’s escorts shot the two victims in the chest and face with weapons, injuring them.

After violently assaulting the Jazuli siblings, the power-drunk naval officer and his gang of escorts, according to eyewitnesses, declined to go to a nearby police station where the attack was registered.

“The incident happened on Monday at the Galadima Estate entrance gate in Abuja,” a witness, Adamu, said. Hadi, a lawyer, was returning to Abuja with his family after spending the weekend in Kano State.

“His brother, Suleiman, drove a different vehicle, but they were both moving into the estate at the same time. The issue began when two vehicles – a Sport Utility Vehicle and a Toyota Hilux truck – tried to overtake the Rear Admiral’s convoy because it was going too slowly.

“Before anyone realized what was going on, the soldiers came down from the front, pulled the two men out of their vehicles, and started beating them up.”

The four naval personnel pounced on the lawyer and the policeman at the entrance of the Galadima housing estate and brutalized them as passersby looked on helplessly.
“The altercation drew the attention of police officers, who welcomed us to the police station. Despite the fact that Admiral Dewu and his men pretended to be heading to the police station, they flew away. As a result, only the victims accompanied the cops to write our complaint.

Another source familiar with the incident said, “The victims have advised their attorneys to bring a legal suit against the officer and his boys for the enforcement of human rights that were recklessly violated.”

Dewu had paid some cronies and news reporters to doctor the incident and write that the two men were the ones who rammed into his car, according to SaharaReporters.

“We hope that Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo, the Chief of Naval Staff, can look into this public ridicule by one of his top officers and prevent it from happening again,” the source added.
