Rt. Hon. Barr Ogana Lukpata PhD; A Paragon Of Credibility

Think of leaders of great records who you either know personally or from their carefully crafted public image. Why are they good leaders? One word sums it up: Credibility. It is difficult to build yet so easy to lose.

At the heart of credibility are two critical elements perceived:
1. Competence – People’s faith in the leader’s knowledge, skills, and ability to do the job

2. Trustworthiness – Their belief in his or her values and dependability.

First, a leader is perceived to be competent when he takes actions and initiatives and communicate effectively through knowledge and experience.

Secondly, a leader is perceived to be trustworthy enough by his people, when he communicates and act in a consistent manner, protecting the people he represents and their livelihoods, shouldering their collective vision and values, consult with and listen to key stakeholders, communicate openly with them, especially those he is leading and offering support to those in desperate need of help.

Over the years, Rt. Hon. Barr Ogana Lukpata has built for himself credibility and has passed the test of leadership in all its pheres. He is a tested and trusted leader.

Many have affirmed that they trust his credibility, intellect and capacity to represent us at the red chamber, having watched him performed his duties creditably at the Cross River State House of Assembly where he served two terms from 2011-2019, in the 7th and 8th Assemblies of the nation’s 4th Republic respectively.
