Secondary Schoolgirl Who Went To School With A Gun To Shoot Her Teacher In Cross River, Said She Belongs To ‘Sky Queens Confraternity’

“She said she belongs to the “Sky Queens Confraternity” cult group.

The 17-year-old girl added that she was given the pistol by her 38-year-old partner.

Last week, a 17-year-old secondary school girl identified as Promise Idorenyin was nabbed with a gun which she wanted to use to shoot her teacher for asking her to cut her coloured hair at Government Secondary School, Ikot Ewa, Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria.

Today, February 19, 2021, the schoolgirl was paraded by the Cross River State Police Commissioner, CP Sikiru Akande, alongside 12 alleged kidnappers, cultists, armed robbers and others.

WeetalknaijaBlog learned that Idorenyin resumed school with an unusual, well-colored hairstyle. Her teacher then asked her to cut her hair to look like a regular student, but instead, she wanted to show up with a gun to shoot her teacher to discipline her.

The girl resumed back to school and was asked by her class teacher to go home, barb her coloured hair to look like a regular student”, an eyewitness, Otunba Charles informed WeetalknaijaBlog.

Parading the 17-year-old schoolgirl, CP Akande who gave her name as Promise Idorenyin, said the gun was given to her by her 38-year-old partner, Okon Effiom Edet, and that the female suspect did not target her teacher as initially reported because the double-barrel pistol found in her bag had no ammunition.

The Police Commissioner said: “The 17-year-old girl, an SS 2 student of Community Secondary School, Ikot Ewa, Akpabuyo, had in her school bag a locally made double-barrel pistol, which was discovered by the principal of the school.

“The suspect admitted that the said firearm was given to her by her partner, Okon Effiom of Abasi Effiom village in Akpabuyo LGA. Discreet investigation is on-going; the suspects will soon be handed over to the appropriate authority for prosecution.

Talking to the press, the 17-year-old girl admitted that the gun belonged to her boyfriend and that her parents were aware of her relationship with the man and had offered their help, but denied intending to shoot her teacher.

“My parents know that I have a relationship. At times, in our house, he sleeps. He helps me with matters relevant to my school. Idorenyin said he told me to take the gun to the blacksmith to repair it. Read the full story here.

She further claimed that she belonged to a “Sky Queens Confraternity” female cult group, but was not given any place of responsibility.

This is not the first time a secondary school teacher in the state of Cross River has been threatened or targeted.

The other was at Calabar Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), where a parent brought in some State Services Department (DSS) officials to manipulate a teacher to discipline the boy.
