Senator Gershom Bassey Storms Calabar Municipality Again With More Empowerment
With the delivery of more tricycles to its constituents, the senator representing Cross River South Senatorial District has revisited Calabar Municipality. A senator represented by his DG, Barr. Barr. The tricycles were distributed to constituents by Ekpo Ada, reminding them of the need to put the tricycles to good use.
The recipients of the tricycles shared their enthusiasm and appreciation, saying that the tricycles meant a great deal to them and would go a long way towards fulfilling their basic needs. They congratulated the Senator for embracing a new leadership pattern, thanked him for changing the narrative, and for not allowing the constituents’ cluster to beg for peanuts at the gates of politicians.
The groups benefiting from the Senator’s second visit are the Royal Party of Friends, Cal. Municipality headed by Offiong Effanga, Ntufam Inok Edim platform party, Nka ibuot Efak headed by Hon Lious Lucas. President Ikot Ekpo, Edet Francis, Head of G-Men, Lawman C. Vicross, Chairman of Neighbourhood Watch (Akai Effa, Ikot Eyo, Ikot Uduak, Ikot Nsisuk, Ediba), Hon. Others who also benefited include Okokon Effiom.
As he recently granted N470,000 grants to over 1,000 constituents to start a business, trained and motivated 200 women in life skills, another 200 men and women were trained in solar streetlights and inverter installation, Sen. Gershom Bassey has been on an empowerment spree. The Senator has also delivered streetlights and transformers to various communities, and in rural areas of the Southern District, water projects and health projects are also underway.
Likewise, those witnessing the handing over of the tricycles shared their happiness. One Etim Peter said, ‘I am happy for the beneficiaries, even though I am not a beneficiary. I have seen with my two eyes that ordinary people benefit from the empowerment of Sen. Gershom Bassey, may God bless the Senator. My neighbor who was unemployed is a beneficiary.
