The Senator representing Cross River Central, Sandy Onor has denied any plan to vye for the seat of the number one citizen in the state come 2023.
Sandy Onor who is a serving senator in the 9th Assembly was elected in 2019, he denied the governorship ambition in a statement signed and issued by Director General (DG) Caterpillar Movement, Hon Chief Joe Obi Bisong.
The Statement Reads:
AGAIN,THEY FIRED THE WRONG SHOT
This morning, the attention of our principal, Distinguished Sen. Prof Sandy Ojang Onor, the Caterpillar Movement Political Family and indeed Crossriverians were drawn to posters which were printed and pasted by mischief makers to the effect that our principal Sen. Prof. Sandy Onor is aspiring for the office of Governor come 2023.
The Senator is barely a year old in office as a Senator. The Caterpillar Movement have absolutely nothing to do with the said posters that emanated from alien quarters.
The Senator is very concerned with delivering the dividends of democracy to people of Cross River Central who voted for him massively in the last general election and can not allow himself to be distracted by mischief makers who are prematurely engaged in 2023 permutations.
For avoidance of doubt, We in the caterpillar movement are solidly behind the efforts of the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prof. Ben Ayade to develop our state. We will do everything within our powers to support the Governor to a successful completion of his projects and tenure.
It is infantile, laughable, cheap and elementary political strategy for anyone to wake up in ungodly hours of the night to post campaign posters of a focused and visionary man, who is in Abuja putting in his best to discharge the responsibilities of the mandate massively given him by the good people of Cross River Central.
Please be guided accordingly
Hon Chief Joe Obi Bisong
