A serving member of the House of Representatives and thousands of others have defected from the APC to PDP, Weetalknaija.com.ng report

As the 2023 general election draws near, more than 5, 000 All Progressives Congress (APC) members defected to the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State on Sunday.

Weetalknaija.com.ng reports that Katsina is the home state of incumbent APC President Muhammadu Buhari.

A serving member of the House of Representatives was among the decampees.

The PDP governorship candidate in Katsina State, Senator Lado Danmarke, received the former APC members.

 

 

Speaking at the event, the gubernatorial hopeful said Katsina State will enjoy better security and good governance if he is elected in 2023.

 

According to him, the PDP government will come up with better strategies to solve the problems of security.

 

“I wish to inform you that God willing, the strategies we have on ground to end the security challenges in Katsina are going to succeed, hopefully, within our first three months in office,” Danmarke said.
