Hassan Said;

I wish to inform you sir,that I just returned from Obudu/Ogoja this evening and the two persons who have been under self Isolation after their journey from Kano to Cross River State are doing well and have shown no symptoms of COVID-19 two weeks after.

The confirmation was given by the PHC Coordinators In Ogoja and Obudu in the present of some Muslim leaders this Sunday 10-05-2020 before returning to Calabar.

Sir,With this information from the health practitioners,Ogoja and Obudu is safe from any fear of Coronavirus Suspect as a result of those who travelled from Kano into the State two weeks ago.

On the issue of the Almajiris (who are mainly Muslims)intercepted at Gakem by the taskforce.With your kind permission your Excellency, i have opened discussion with the leadership of the Long Trucks and trailer Owners, NUPENG, Tanker Drivers among Others.

This I started in Ogoja Trailer Park, Ikom ,Iwuru (Biase)and will continue with Calabar Tomorrow morning (Monday)on why they should adhere to the presidential directive on interstate movement restrictions and also the directive of His Excellency on Essential Trailer and Truck Drivers.

I have told them the implications and the Consequences of carrying unathourised passengers and illegal occupants in their vehicles,this will be a going concern effort sir.

At this juncture, I must commend the Hon. Commissioner for Youths Development,Hon Signor Omang Idiege and the Director General of Border Commission for the support given to the Muslim community while on duty enforcing the directive of His Excellency and carrying out the assignment of Covid-19 Taskforce Response Team at Gakem, the boundary between North and Southern Nigeria.

Once Again, the journey was fruitful and the response was Encouraging as the Muslim Community in Cross River State Unanimously Declared Support His Excellency that the state is Covid-19 free as at today.

Thank You Sir.
