READ THE Whole STATEMENT: “Press Release”
We would like to inform the international community and every Nigerian that a letter was sent via DHL to Chief Sunday Igboho this morning, April 1, 2021, but it was not received by his security operatives.
Around 3 p.m. on the same day, a team of about 6 men in plainclothes and another 9 in police uniform arrived in a Toyota Corolla car, all of whom were identified as police officers.
They demanded to see Chief Sunday Igboho, who was carrying a letter from the Inspector General of Police. Chief Sunday’s security team did not receive the letter once again.
Chief Sunday is curious as to why and for what reason a letter was sent to him. If the Inspector General of Police wishes to invite him, we would like him to first send the same letter to all the bandits and boko-haram who have killed or abducted our mothers and farmers.
If the Inspector General of Police wishes to invite him, he should give a public statement to Chief Sunday Igboho.
We should all recall how previous Yoruba Sons, such as Late Dele Giwa, were addressed in letters.”
