Supreme Court Judgment: Jarigbe Agom Finally Opens Up, Reveals When He Will Be Sworn In As Cross River North Senator

The recent Supreme Court judgment, in which Dr. Stephen Odey’s appeal challenging the consequential orders granted Rt. Hon. Jarigbe Agom by the Court of Appeal was struck out by a majority judgment on the 25th of February, 2021, appeared to have had a lead way with Rt. Hon. Jarigbe Agom following the laid down procedures to enable him to take the oath of office as senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

For the first time since the judgment was handed down, Rt. Hon. Jarigbe Agom has spoken. He assured that as a legislator for the past six years, he is well-versed in their procedures.

“As a lawmaker who has served in Parliament for six years, I should be aware of our procedures,” he says. We’ll formally transmit the Supreme Court’s decision and follow the defined beurocratic procedures for taking the oath of office as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“While we await a Certified True Copy of the Supreme Court Judgment resolving the issue of “The Authentic Candidate for the PDP in the last CRNorth Senate By-Election,” I would like to shed some light for the benefit of those who were not present in Court and want to know the facts. When the Lead/Majority Judgment is made available to us, I will publish it. The Lead Judgment has yet to be handed in by Justice Nweze, who read it. The main thing to note here is that the appeal was dismissed by the Supreme Court due to an ineffective Notice of Appeal. That means the Supreme Court did not hear the case. The Court of Appeal’s decision was upheld.

“The Trial Court’s rulings, which granted Consequential Orders in my favor, were upheld by the Appeal Court. One of the concerns I raised in my Counter Affidavit was that as a PDP Candidate, I should be given all of the privileges that are available to me under the law. The Trial Court granted it, and the Appellate Court upheld it. Stephen Odey filed an appeal against the judgment, but the Supreme Court dismissed it as incompetent. I’ve had my Certificate of Return for a long time, which rendered the former, given to Stephen Odey, null and void.”

The important thing to remember;

“We can’t see our people being shot and killed for the sake of a Senate seat and expect God to go to sleep. The perpetrators will be haunted by the blood of those who were assassinated before and after the PDP Senate Primary Election, now and in the future. They have shown no remorse and continue to pay bribes in order for the case to be undermined. Is it possible to bribe God? NO is the answer! How did we become so ruthless and inhumane?
