Tambuwal Emerges Chairman PDP Governors Forum

The Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal has emerged as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors Forum.

During the National Executive Committee meeting of the party in Abuja today, the Governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde announced to the meeting that the Governors met on Sunday and agreed for Tambuwal to be Chairman of the PDP Governors forum. Makinde said, “the governors met yesterday night. We have unanimously accepted my brother Governor Tambuwal of Sokoto State as the next chairman of PDP Governors Forum, so I have the honor to invite him to the microphone to address this body. Thank you.”

Tambuwal in his speech said,” the responsibility settled on me by my colleagues members of the PDP Governor’s forum to step into the shoes of my brother Governor of Bayelsa State soon after his term of office. I show you my brothers and indeed the party that by the grace of God we shall work together to continue strengthening party and deepen democracy in Nigeria.

“Let me thank members of a great party, especially our leaders and those at the grassroot level for your support and cooperation and encouragement when last week were going through very harrowing and challenging experiences at the Tribune has and in particular the Supreme Court. Your support through the Press statements through interventions and the rallies held across the country helped in ensuring that what was masterminded by some transducers who are hell-bent on making Nigeria a one-party state was stopped and I assure you that that your support will not go in vain”

Tambuwal assured the party that, “We assure you as your governors that we shall continue to work together in unison in unity. And work with the national working committee, our leadership of the party in ensuring that the programs of the party especially in our respective States in line with our manifestos implemented and we shall also continue to support the party in is growth drive for membership and development.”..
