The prestigious Government College in Ibadan, Oyo State, south west Nigeria has commenced her 90th founders day ceremonies with a public lecture and academic award ceremony, that will feature prominent Nigerians and alumnis of the school.
However the National Leader of Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who touted himself as a former pupil of the Ibadan based secondary school was conspicuously omitted from the programs slated to mark the 90th founders day.
Tinubu a former Governor of Lagos State was billed to be celebrated as a successful alumnus of the school alongside others in 1999, but the old student association could not trace his official records with the school, neither identify any of his classmates, nor establish if indeed he attended the school with a pseudo name that is different from what he is now known as.
The embarrassed association commenced an investigation into the school pupilship claim of the strongman of Lagos politics, but the then Governor of the State, late Alhaji Lam Adeshina sent officials of Oyo State Ministry of Education to the warehouse where the students records are kept.
Tinubu had also claimed he attended St. John’s School Aroloya Lagos Island for his primary education, but findings revealed that no such school existed in Lagos in the years Tinubu claimed pupilship of the said school.
Tinubu in his resume claimed he attended Richard Daley College and Chicago State University both in the United States of America and graduated top of his class summer cum laude, information revealed that as he was about to be promoted into the international board of Mobil, his background check revealed discrepancies in his bio and educational claims.
This was why he was advised by his Nigerian boss at Mobil Nigeria Chief Pius Akinyelure (now APC South West Chairman) to quickly opted for partisan politics and left the organization. Tinubu had always explained that all his certificates and pictures were destroyed by the military junta of General Sani Abacha. What watchers however said was that even at that his classmates could not avail him their photos that had his pictures.
Tokunbo Afikuyomi a Senator had covered Tinubu that he was the one who filled Tinubu’s gubernatorial form and made all the mistakes as related to his age, schools attended when the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi SAN took Tinubu up legally on matters of lying under oath.
Those in the know said, Tinubu has lived serial family lives, using different names before settling down with his current spouse Senator Remi Tinubu.
Tinubu whose biological origin is shrouded in secrecy was said to be an adopted son of the late Iyaloja General late Abibatu Mogaji, was christened Amoda Sangolere, infact Amoda was natively tattooed on his arm, but has been cleaned vis laser few months after he became Lagos State Governor in 1999.
His root is in Iragbiji in Osun State: he came to Lagos with a party of hawkers, but his knowledge of basic arithmetic drew him close to Abibat Mogaji his adopted mother and the then facilitators of hawkers from the hinterlands of south west to Lagos. Abibat Mogaji also came to Lagos as a hawker.
Tinubu had once chase out the current Governor of Osun State Gboyega Oyetola his cousin also from Iragbiji from Lagos State government house when eye brows were raised that Lagosians do not bare facial tribal marks.
Tinubu refused to pay his biological mother the last honour by attending her burial all in the desperate bid to cover his ancestary. The Tinubu name was handed him by the late Kafaru Tinubu, when he was begged by late Abibatu Mogaji to help ship him abroad because of truancies, serial misdemeanors tending toward crimes.
Tinubu is tagged with fake name, fake parentage, fake age, fake credentials, fake family life, fake history: everything about him is fake.
