UNICAL VC Pays Courtesy Visit To Cross River House of Assembly

 

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Florence Banku Obi has pledged to strengthen the relationship between the institution and the Cross River State House of Assembly.

Prof. Obi made the pledge on Monday when she led her team on a courtesy call to the Cross River State House of Assembly.

The VC who was received by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Eteng Williams Jones, said she was overwhelmed with the role Cross River State House of Assembly played in her emergence as the Vice Chancellor (VC).

The VC promised a robust and symbiotic relationship with the Cross River House of Assembly.

The Vice Chancellor who said the visit is of great significance to the institution added that it would help in renewing the synergy between the institution and the State Assembly.

According to her, ‘’ This is the first time she is paying a courtesy visit to the House of Assembly and that is why the visit is very significant to the institution.

Continuing, Obi said “this University is part of your constituency hence the need for a robust synergy. You are our representatives and that is the reason why our relationship should be strong’’

Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Eteng Williams said the House of Assembly is solidly behind the institution.

“We are solidly behind you because we are products of this great institution. We are in love with what you are doing for the institution. ‘’ Our relationship must work and if you need us always call on us’’ The lawmaker who called on the Vice Chancellor to carry the State Assembly along in the scheme of things said the assembly would not do anything that will undermine the already blossoming relationship.
