BREAKING!!! UNICAL Calls On ASUU To Embark On Indefinite Strike If…
University of Calabar has requests that ASUU should go on indefinite strike.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) section at the University of Calabar (UNICAL) has called on the union’s national body to go on a total and comprehensive strike if the federal government does not honor agreements agreed with it by February 13, 2022.
Members of the branch pledged to support the national body and follow its orders whenever the strike is announced in a resolution unanimously passed during a congress meeting held on Thursday at the UNICAL Conference Center.
The branch took a shot at the federal government for failing to honor agreements in a news release released at the end of the congress.
The branch chastised the federal government, stating that it is more than a year after ASUU patriotically suspended the nine-month strike occasioned by the failure of the federal government to implement the 2009 agreements and numbers of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) and Memoranda of Action (MoA) entered into with the union.
