Unrest In Calabar As Criminals Take Over City, Despite Curfew, Operation Akpaku

Following the #EndSARS rally, which prompted the state governor, Ben Ayade, to enforce a curfew in Calabar and the launch of a joint task force, “Operation Akpaku,” in the state capital, insecurity is at an all-time high in the state as hoodlums and cultists take over major streets.

Weetalknaija can authoritatively report that gangs armed with knives and short arms (pistol) robbed citizens of their belongings on the street of Akai Efa in Calabar, the State capital.

Last Tuesday’s night assault, which occurred on the outskirts of Calabar, saw hoodlums behead nine people, both men and women; this attack remains the pinnacle of the city’s current state of insecurity.

The robbers were successful in killing at least nine people and escaping with their heads during that assault.

According to a Twitter user who goes by the handle “The Earl of Millennium,” his mother was brutally beaten and murdered in cold blood.

He went on to say that the incident occurred in her room at her Calabar residence in the state housing estate.

“She was raped, beaten, strangled, and her wrist was slit,” he said. “They took away some documents, I’m not sure how much.” My car was also stolen from the compound.”
