‘Warn Him, There Would Be Crisis In Nigeria If Buhari Allow Price of Petrol Per Litre To Jump To ₦340’ — Prof Femi Olufunmilade Blows Hot
If you have President Buhari’s ears, tell him allowing price per liter of oil to jump to N340 at once will destroy the socioeconomic fabric of this country and cause political upheaval of a magnitude that would make #EndSARS look like a rat before an elephant. I don’t think he will survive it.
I live in this country and partake of the daily struggles to survive and I know how excruciating life is for most people.
Don’t forget that the price would be escalated to N500 or more in remote regions of the country like the creeks of the Niger Delta and illegal refineries would flourish inevitably on a scale hitherto left only for the imagination.
A bike man takes minimum N100 to the shortest route as we speak. If you raise the price it would jump to N200.
Then Naira would crash further to maybe N800 to a dollar and N1000 plus to pounds. As a result, oil marketers would be forced to raise price per liter again or stop importation.
The solution is to get our refineries to work fast, but the people in-charge are either incompetent or thieves.
Warn Buhari. He would tear Nigeria to pieces with the proposed oil price. Everything hangs on oil in Nigeria. Transportation, factories, salon, pepper grinder, homes, schools etc where generators are used.
Meanwhile, after 6 years going to seven in power, he hasn’t added a quarter to the quantum of power he met. I mean Buhari.
Warn him. We can’t survive that oil regime. He shouldn’t let some mad governors push him into hellfire. There will be time to go there later.
