We won’t challenge Wike’s second term victory – APC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated it received’t be a part of the African Action Congress (AAC) to protest the second time period victory of Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, within the simply concluded gubernatorial election within the state.
APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, made this identified through the weekend whereas fielding questions from reporters in Abuja.
He famous that though some native authorities space outcomes have been questionable, the APC wouldn’t problem them on the Election Tribunal as a result of the get together had nothing to do with the polls.
Issa-Onilu stated: “It will not be true that APC felt damage over PDP’s victory. We don’t have something to do with the Rivers State election. APC didn’t have candidates within the election and that’s the reason, from the start, we didn’t throw ourselves a lot into it.
“You knew that the Supreme Court dominated that we weren’t certified to contest. So, on that foundation, no matter what occurred in Rivers, whether or not on the native authorities that gave 80,000 votes through the presidential election and all of the sudden produced 320,000 votes for Wike throughout governorship election didn’t damage us in any manner.
“If INEC says that was correct, fine; it is up to the parties involved to take action if they find it necessary but for us at APC, we didn’t have the opportunity to contest unfairly in Rivers State,” he stated.
Recall that the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole had earlier disowned the alliance between the get together’s faction in Rivers state led by Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, and the AAC, to unseat the incumbent Governor Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
