Six men who allegedly kidnapped and tortured a man to death were arrested in Benue State’s Lessel community, Ushongo LGA.

According to sources, after an oracle pointed him out as the culprit, the unidentified man was killed by a lost goat.

On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, the suspects were arrested.

A certain Ordue Akume, the youngest sibling of the deceased, was alleged to have confirmed to the youths of the community the disappearance of his goat.

They wanted to consult an oracle during the inquiry, who admitted to them that it was the deceased who stole the goat.

The deceased, however, refuted the claim when asked about the missing goat.

In an attempt to ensure that the said goat was admitted and returned, the perpetrators, despite appeals by neighbors and passers-by, continued with all means of torture to stop the torture.

They transferred and dumped him at a private clinic where he passed away when it dawned on them that the deceased could not survive the grievous torture.
